Why Mode Jamming is One of the Most Common Culprits of Security Light Problems
In most cases, Maryland electricians handle, the problem comes down to security lights stuck in the “always on” mode. This is a very common feature of many security lights, and it can be triggered in many different ways. Unfortunately, a lot of these ways are unplanned. Security lights will not turn off when:
- Power surges happen: they are among the most common causes of this issue. The sudden loss and recovery of power will trigger the security lights’ override system, keeping them on even after power is cut.
- The lights are switched on and off too fast: if you have accidentally flicked the main switch for your security lights on and off again rapidly, you will get the same issue, and for essentially the same reasons.
The good news is that this is an easy fix to make! You can reset the sensor light just by cutting off power to your security lighting and leaving the power off for around 30 seconds. After that, kick them back on. The light will run for a couple minutes, around two or three, and then cut off and act normal from that point.
Other Problems with Security Lights and Their Settings
There actually are not many other issues out there to be had other than sheer wear and tear and age. But you may be dealing with improperly tuned sensitivity settings. If your security lights don’t turn off, you should first check the settings to help ensure the light is not picking up movement too far away. A few systems are powerful enough to detect vehicles on a highway that are hundreds of yards away.
